EEP Africa provides early-stage grant and catalytic financing to innovative clean energy projects, technologies and business models in 17 countries across Southern and Eastern Africa. Project financing is supplemented by technical support, investment facilitation and knowledge sharing.
Our mission
The aim of the Fund is to provide a sustainable and effective model for identifying and fast-tracking support to innovative renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
This makes us unique
EEP Africa is set up as an open-ended multi-donor trust fund which allows long presence in the market with opportunities for operational evolution based on changing realities and lessons learnt. EEP Africa grants are flexible and designed to act like equity without shareholding. We establish close links to our grantees.
